Review: Lights Out (The SNAP Agency #1) by Natalie Walters

About the Book
CIA analyst Brynn Taylor developed a new program to combat terrorism, and she invited members of foreign intelligence agencies to America to foster cooperation between countries. Now one of them, Egyptian spy Remon Riad, is missing.

Jack Hudson has been working for the Strategic Neutralization and Protection Agency (SNAP) for almost nine years and takes the lead in hunting down the missing spy. But he isn't at all pleased to find out Brynn is involved. It's hard to trust a woman who's already betrayed you.

Every lead they follow draws them dangerously deeper into an international plot. Kidnapping, murder, explosions, poisoning--the terrorists will do anything to accomplish their goal of causing a digital blackout that will blind a strategic US military communications center and throw the world into chaos.

Can Brynn surrender control to a man who doesn't trust her? And can Jack ever get over what she did to him? The fate of the world--and their hearts--hangs in the balance.

MY THOUGHTS

I loved this book! I really enjoyed the prequel novella and was eager to dive into this first full-length book about the SNAP Agency. It was every bit as good as I expected it to be. Incredibly compelling and fast paced, this was a book that was hard to set aside and tend to real life things. There was this great sense of urgency that had me flipping through the pages as fast as I could. It wasn't all nonstop action and suspense, though. There were nice breathers and a good deal of humor that helped to lighten things up.

There were a lot of characters, but they were all distinct. I never got anyone confused, which tends to happen to me when there's a big ensemble cast. I thought all the SNAP agents were great, but Kekoa was by far my favorite. I'm so excited that the next book centers around him.

This was a really good romantic suspense that I highly recommend. Fans of Ronie Kendig and Lynette Eason are sure to love it.

FOUR STARS

  1. Sounds like another good one! But then good characters combined with fast-paced suspense and some romance always makes for a fun book. :)
