Yet their enthusiasm is soon extinguished when Violet discovers one of the writers dead during the event. After the shop magically tells Violet she’ll need to rely on Poe’s works to solve the murder, she enlists the help of her trusty tuxedo cat, Emerson, and the shop’s crow, Faulkner. My Thoughts
Prose and Cons is the second book in the Magical Bookshop Mysteries. I liked the first one but I loved this one even better. All of the Edgar Allan Poe references and the fact that Poe's stories were used to help solve the case, added to my enjoyment. Who doesn't love a good, creepy Poe story every once in awhile?
There were plenty of twists and turns making this mystery a mind-boggling puzzle that kept me guessing until the end. The murder victim wasn't the most well-liked person which meant there were MANY viable suspects. And in the end, I was completely shocked by who actually did it. Never in a million years did I suspect this person, but it made perfect sense after the reveal.
I'm having such a fun time with this series. I mean, how awesome would it be to have a shop like Charming Books! I highly recommend this to book lovers everywhere and can't wait for book three!
Five Stars
