Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week's Top Ten is all about Halloween. I'm sharing some books that I think would be great to read around this time of year. Some are spooky, some are funny, but all of them are great.
Not much is scarier than a creepy, old house!
A collection of short stories that deals with spiritual warfare. And let me tell ya, some of these stories (Hybrids, in particular) are still giving me nightmares!
A collection of ghost stories following Rose Marshall, the ghost of Sparrow Hill Road.
A gritty crime series featuring vampire baddies.
The October Days series is my favorite, but this book, for some weird reason, terrified me. I had to put it aside for a little while. It ended up being really good though.
A werewolf named Kitty. What more could you ask for?
This urban fantasy series is quite funny and features a plethora of different supernatural creatures. This book, in particular, was a little scary for me because of the whole demon thing. I don't do well reading about demons, lol.
This is an enchanting and humorous paranormal cozy series where it feels like Halloween all year round.
Zombies invade Riverdale and infect some of our favorite town residents. I was able to read the first five comics in this series through Kindle Unlimited and really liked them. Definitely not something I'd normally pick up but it was an interesting twist on the familiar characters.
How could I make this list and not put Harry Potter on it?
What are some of your favorite Halloween reads?
Haven't read any of these, but they sound and look sufficiently spooky for the season!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Rissi! Happy reading! :)
DeleteGreat list! I have only read Sparrow Hill Road from this list (besides HP), but I love everything I have ever read by Seanan so yes to that one! :) Have you read the sequel yet? I have it on my shelf but haven't gotten around to it yet. Happy reading!

DeleteI'd like to read more werewolf stories so maybe I should look into the Kitty series. I'm really curious about the October Daye series too...
ReplyDeleteThe Kitty series is awesome and I really can't recommend the October Daye series highly enough! Those are probably my two favorite urban fantasy series out there. Thanks for coming by, Greg! Happy reading! :)
DeleteI've only read Harry Potter but I think you've got some fab choices here. My TTT
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by, Chrissi! Happy reading! :)
DeleteAside from HP, I haven't read nay of the books in your list. Just shows how I'm not a fan of this book genre. (Shows and movies are different story. hehe)

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of scary anything but I will read some spooky reads every once in awhile. Thanks for coming by, Lili! Happy reading! :)
DeleteOoh, House of Dark Shadows sounds like a great read.

It was so great! A little creepy but not too bad. Thanks for visiting, Astillbe! Happy reading! :)
DeleteThe Harbingers Series sounds creepy. I don't know if there's much that's more scary than spiritual warfare. The House of Dark Shadows looks creepy too.
ReplyDeleteSpiritual warfare is definitely scary! Thanks for coming by, Brooke! Happy reading! :)
DeleteGreat list of Halloween reads. I totally want to read Afterlife with Archie now. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a really fun read. Thanks for stopping by, Lark! Happy reading! :)
