Book Beginnings + Friday 56: Bound by Trouble (Beach Bound Books & Beans #4) by Christy Barritt

Book Beginnings is a weekly meme hosted by Rose City Reader that asks you to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you're reading. Friday 56 is hosted by Freda's Voice and asks you to grab a book (any book), turn to page 56 or 56% in your ereader and share a non-spoilery sentence or two. I'm also linking up with Carrie at Reading is My Superpower for First Line Friday.

This week I'm featuring Bound by Trouble (Beach Bound Books & Beans #4) by Christy Barritt

About the Book
With the grand opening of Beach Bound Books and Beans, Tali Robinson’s dreams are finally coming true. She hopes to now put the past behind her and start a new chapter. When a suspicious stranger mysteriously shows up at her celebration, her hopes disappear faster than a bestseller at a book signing.

Mac MacArthur is ready to solidify his relationship with Tali. But mending their differences is easier said than done. Then someone sets their sights on Tali—and wants to put her out of print . . . permanently.

With trouble brewing, Tali and Mac have no choice but to dive into the chaos of the past. However, as more answers are revealed, the danger increases. The truth will come at a great cost . . . one that will bind them together or drive them apart.

Book Beginnings / First Line Friday
So far, the grand opening of Beach Bound Books and Beans had been a smashing success.

Friday 56
"You know Arlo isn't easy to work with." Maisie raised her eyebrows and offered a knowing look. "I've seen that firsthand. His coffee has to be a certain temperature, or you'll get an earful. He'll fire someone for looking at him the wrong way. And if he's in one of his moods, you just need to stay out of his way."

What have you been reading lately?

  3. This is the fourth book in this series? It sounds like I might need to start with book one just to get a better understanding of Mac and Tali's relationship. I love the cute dog on the cover. :D

    1. I think this could work as a standalone, but I'd still recommend starting with the first one. This mystery ties into the previous books. It does a good job of recapping things though.

I love the doggie on the cover too. So cute! Hope you have a great weekend, Lark! :)

  5. Happy Friday!
I'm currently reading Love in Any Language by Hallee Bridgeman. It's really good so far!
"Jorge looked at the clock on the wall of the ready room and sighed. Two-twenty-two. He hated jet lag. He would love it if someone designed a way of travel that didn't kick him in the teeth coming and going."
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Avis gripped the ladder as her husband climbed, a thick swath of black bunting draped over his shoulder.
