This week I'm featuring City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab.
About the Book
Ever since Cass almost drowned (okay, she did drown, but she doesn't like to think about it), she can pull back the Veil that separates the living from the dead . . . and enter the world of spirits. Her best friend is even a ghost.
So things are already pretty strange. But they're about to get much stranger.
When Cass's parents start hosting a TV show about the world's most haunted places, the family heads off to Edinburgh, Scotland. Here, graveyards, castles, and secret passageways teem with restless phantoms. And when Cass meets a girl who shares her "gift," she realizes how much she still has to learn about the Veil -- and herself.
And she'll have to learn fast. The city of ghosts is more dangerous than she ever imagined.
NYT bestselling author Victoria Schwab delivers a thrillingly spooky and action-packed tale of hauntings, history, mystery, and the bond between friends (even if that friend is a ghost . . .).

Book Beginning
People think that ghosts only come out at night, or on Halloween, when the world is dark and the walls are thin.
Friday 56
I'm so used to Jacob's constant commentary, like a narrator in my life, that without him, the world feels quiet. He's not always around, but this is the first time it feels like he's deliberately missing.
You're spending a night in a haunted house. What book would you bring with you?
Hmmm... good question. I wouldn't want anything scary because I'd already be scared enough in a haunted house. I'm thinking my Bible would probably be the best option.
What have you been reading lately?
I've read a couple of books by Victoria Schwab, but I haven't gotten around to City of Ghosts. It looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis was just my second book from her, but I have quite a few more on my TBR list that I'm very eager to read. Thanks for coming by, Breana! Have a great weekend! :)

I get scared way too easily, lol. Thanks for coming by, Flora! Hope you have a great week! :)
DeleteLol! Your the second person to say they would bring a Bible if spending the night in a haunted house!
ReplyDeleteI like being sacred. Plus, haunted places don't scare me a bit, so I would most likely be bringing a horror novel with me.
We're exact opposites, lol. I hate being scared. My anxiety just can't take it. Thanks for stopping by, Billy! Have an awesome week! :)
