MY THOUGHTS

I had a blast reading this fun and entertaining mystery. It had me laughing out loud in spots and putting my detective hat on in others.

Things got off to a bit of a rocky start between Daphne and Clark after a hilarious and slightly embarrassing first meeting. But I thought they made a great team after getting over that initial run in. I really liked them both. I loved Daphne’s aunt Hannah. She was quite the character. I also adored the dogs. It was great seeing Daphne warm up to them.

The mystery was good. I had my suspicions about who the guilty party was early on, but there were plenty of other suspects, which had me second-guessing things.

I was a little bummed that there wasn’t more Bigfoot, but it was an enjoyable read nonetheless. I really liked all the nods to Nancy Drew and Scooby Doo. I’m hoping there are many more books to come in this series. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries.

MY THOUGHTS

What a fun and suspenseful read! It had a good amount of humor and more suspense than I was expecting. There was also a sweet and swoony romance, a lot of depth, and a wonderful message of faith too. I absolutely adored this book!

I really liked both Everly and Beckett. She’s an author with two pen names. And the inspiration for her upcoming hockey romance is Blue Ox defenseman Beckett Benson. Beckett was super likable and endearing. He’s a reader who’s been sending secret fan mail to one of Everly’s pen names. Neither one knows the real identity of the other. Not yet, at least. The two have a past. A not-so-great one. But I loved seeing them reconnect and was rooting so hard for them.

I loved this book so much and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, lightly suspenseful read with a lot of heart and a strong message of faith. I can’t wait for book three.

MY THOUGHTS

“Of all the unpleasant, unwanted surprises in Vicky Siden’s life, few topped the sight of the man standing in front of her.”

This was a really sweet and heartwarming story of grief, hope, and forgiveness.

There was a lot of history and hurt between Vicky and Nick. He was her husband’s best friend, and she blames him for his death. When he brings a neglected donkey and horse to the Three Sisters Rescue Farm for some rehabilitation, they have a chance to hash things out. I was really rooting for them to work things out.

Vicky’s son Taylor was adorable. And I loved Dunk the donkey and Buddy the horse. I liked seeing Taylor’s sweet relationship with the animals.

I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet and inspiring contemporary romance. Even though it’s part of a series, it stands alone perfectly fine.

Review: On the Fence About You (The Chimney Creek Romances Book 1) by Emily Conrad

MY THOUGHTS

I absolutely adored this sweet, heartfelt, and faith-filled romance. Emily Conrad has a way of pulling you into a story and making you feel right at home. And that’s exactly how I felt while reading this story.

Morgan and Hale had a complicated history. They were former best friends who hadn’t spoken or seen each other in 20 years. There was a lot of time to make up and hurts to heal. I really liked both of them and was rooting them on. I really loved all the dogs too.

I loved the charming small town of Chimney Creek and the residents who lived there. I loved seeing the community come together and pitch in when help was needed.

I loved this book so much and can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re a fan of contemporary romance with a strong thread of faith, don’t hesitate to grab a copy. You’ll love it!

MY THOUGHTS

I loved this book so much! It’s a stunning story of faith that left me speechless and teary-eyed. It had such a powerful message of hope amidst grief and learning to trust in God even through the hard spots.

I was instantly invested in the characters' lives and was rooting them on from the very start. I really felt for them in their grief.

I enjoyed getting to know Olivia. And I really appreciated the autism representation. She saw things through a unique lens, which I appreciated seeing. Jacob was a bit harsh in the beginning, but I loved seeing him get to know Olivia better and understand her better. Their character growth was amazing to see. Their journeys were very inspiring.

I didn’t want this book to end. I didn’t want my time with these characters to come to a close. They felt so authentic. I know I’ll be thinking about this story for a long time to come. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys heartfelt, emotional, and faith-filled stories. I loved it! It’s a new favorite story from author Tanya Eavenson.

MY THOUGHTS

The Bookshop of 99 Doors is a new favorite! Jaime Jo Wright’s books are always some of my most anticipated reads. And, I’ve gotta say, this new release exceeded all of my very high expectations. I loved it so much!

Following Minnie Tipton in 1888 and Triss Bellamy in the present day, I was instantly intrigued by this suspenseful dual timeline. In books like this, I’m usually drawn to one timeline over the other, but I was equally invested in both. I couldn’t read it fast enough!

While this wasn’t too scary, there were a few times when I got goosebumps and chills down my spine. But I appreciated the explanations of what was really going on. And I loved the faith threads woven throughout both timelines. It was powerful and inspiring, especially given the subject matter.

Jaime Jo Wright is a master of Gothic fiction, and I can’t wait to read whatever she writes next. I highly, highly recommend this story!

MY THOUGHTS

Y’all! This was such a fun read! It had me laughing out loud in spots and emotional and teary-eyed in others. I absolutely adored it.

The fake dating trope is always hit or miss for me. I either love it or can’t stand it. But it worked so well in this story!

I loved Brody and Chloe. They had amazing chemistry right from the get-go. I loved their playful banter and camaraderie. They were great together. There were some definite bumps along the way. Big bumps. Some that seemed insurmountable. Some that I didn’t know how they’d overcome. But I loved seeing them work through things.

This felt like one of those rom-com movies that I loved so much in the 90s. (Yes, I just aged myself, lol.) I loved it so much and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a feel-good, heartfelt, and faith-filled romantic comedy. I can’t wait for book two!

MY THOUGHTS

What an adventure! I didn’t realize this was book two in the series when I picked it up, so it took me a minute to get settled in, but once I did, I was hooked and eager to find out what would happen next!

The descriptions of the scenery were so vivid, I felt like I was traveling right alongside these characters. I could picture everything so clearly!

I liked Lauren and Doug. I also enjoyed getting to know the people they met along the way. Well, most of them. There were some not so nice people along the way too.

This book addresses serious topics through a Christian lens. There were times when I was so worried for the characters. But I was constantly rooting them on through it all. I did enjoy the first half of the book more than the second half. The drama became a bit too much for my liking. Also, there were times when things felt kinda unrealistic. But despite that, I enjoyed the writing style, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

MY THOUGHTS

I absolutely adored this story! It was such a heartwarming and faith-filled Christmas romance. I enjoyed the touch of suspense too.

Amayah was a very likable character. She had such a kind soul. I loved seeing her strong and steady faith and her total and complete trust in God. It was so inspiring! I thought her Door Project was a neat idea. The symbolism of the doors was moving and really left me thinking.

I didn’t know what to think of Luke at first. I knew he meant well with his assignment, but I was worried about the damage he could do with it. I enjoyed getting to know him, though. It was good seeing his character growth.

The Crump kids were a handful, to say the least, but my heart went out to them. They were trying their best.

This might be a quick read, but it packs a lot of goodness into it! If you’re looking for a quick, faith-filled Christmas story, grab a copy of this book. You won't be disappointed. I loved it!

MY THOUGHTS

This was such a sweet small-town Christmas romance! I always love Emily Conrad’s books, but this one might just top them all. I absolutely adored it!

I really liked Neenah and Cody. Neenah had been through a lot. Having to retire early from her job as a police officer really shook her. I really felt for her, but loved seeing her discover herself and her purpose again. Cody was a genuinely good guy. So likeable and easy to root for. His relationship with his dad wasn’t the best. But I loved seeing him come into his own and stand up for what he wanted.

I really enjoyed the mystery of the decoration-stealing Yeti. I was so invested in it and curious what the outcome would be.

If you’re a fan of sweet, faith-filled Christmas romances, you’ll love this book! I highly recommend it!
